Principal's Message

Welcome to our school! I am Meagan Fields, and I am proud to be a member of the team that serves our youngest learners in the Jasper City School System. T.R. Simmons Elementary School is a very special place that focuses on best practices in early childhood education. Our faculty and staff are passionate about providing our students with the very best educational experience possible. Our children are the leaders of tomorrow, and we are working each day to make them stronger through learning.

I have a passion for education, and I have served 18 years in the educational field. I began teaching in first grade, and have served as an elementary reading coach, secondary reading coach, assistant principal, and now as the principal of our building. It has long been an aspiration to return to early childhood. I am proud to be a member of this team.

We have an outstanding faculty and staff at T.R. Simmons. They are committed to serving our students to ensure that each student achieves academic excellence and makes positive contributions to the world around us. They are striving to provide an environment that meets each child's needs, while preparing them for the world outside of our walls.

Educational success for all students cannot be complete without an effective partnership with all parents. You are the most essential part of your children’s education, and it is important that we build a strong relationship in order to best serve your children’s educational needs. Likewise, your input and involvement is greatly appreciated as we work to accomplish our school goals. Partnering with our parents and community is also a top priority.
