Jasper City Schools is implementing a Standards-Based Learning approach that focuses on assessing what students have truly learned while providing opportunities to revisit and master content they have not yet fully understood. This approach is grounded in more than 30 years of educational research by renowned expert Dr. Robert Marzano and reflects best practices in teaching and learning. We have created this video for parents explaining the concepts in order for them to feel informed and confident about how their child is learning and growing.  Standards-Based Learning helps teachers clearly communicate what students should know, provide meaningful feedback, and celebrate progress along the way. Our goal is to make learning transparent—so families can partner with us in supporting every child’s success.
